Error message
Software update incomplete; the program did not update successfully...
Description
This issue typically occurs when the update is unable to successfully rename program files. For certain updates the renaming of program files is a required part of the update process.
Common reason for this error
The update process failed to rename one or all of the following program files - emlaunch.exe and unger.emcommon.dll.
Troubleshooting tip
To resolve this issue you need to complete the update process manually. To do this, follow these steps
  1. Exit the program and close any error messages related to the update.
  2. Open the folder location where the program is installed.
  3. In this folder, locate these files: emlaunch.exe and emlaunch.NEW
  4. If you find emlaunch.new, apply the following changes to your system:
    1. Right-click on emlaunch.exe and then in the pop-up menu select Delete to remove it from your system.
    2. Right-click on emlaunch.NEW and then in the pop-up menu select Rename and rename the file emlaunch.exe.
  5. If you find unger.emcommon.new, apply the same changes as above but to the unger.emcommon.dll and unger.emcommon.NEW files.
  6. After applying these changes, restart the program.
