Follow the steps below to create a shortcut to launch Methuselah or Financial Compass.

To find the folder where the program is installed...
  1. Right-click on the shortcut you use to launch the program, and then in the pop-up menu click Properties.
  2. In the Properties window, click on the Find Target... button. Usually this button is located in the Shortcut tab.
  3. The folder where the program is installed will open.
  1. Find the file named emlaunch.exe.
  2. Right-click on emlaunch.exe, then in the pop-up menu select Create Shortcut. A file named "Shortcut to EMLaunch.exe" will be created in the same folder.
  3. Right-click Shortcut to EMLaunch.exe, and then in the pop-up menu select Properties. The Properties screen will appear.
  4. In the Shortcut tab of the Properties screen, find the Target field.
  5. In the Target field change the path that is entered so that it reads exactly as shown below. Notice that the path includes the argument 2173 for Methuselah and 190841 for Financial Compass. The program will not launch correctly if the argument is missing or incorrectly entered.
    "c:\program files\methuselah mvp\EMLaunch.exe 2173
    "c:\program files\financial guidance software\financial compass\EMLaunch.exe" 190841
  6. Click OK to save these changes to the shortcut.
  7. Rename and move the shortcut file as needed.
  8. Double-click the shortcut to launch the program.
